Recover in Style at NP Addiction Clinic

Residential treatment centers offer a welcoming environment to help people on the road to recovery with medication and mental health treatment to support them along the way.

At NP Addiction Clinic, we are proud to offer comprehensive residential rehab treatments for a range of substance abuse issues. Our bespoke programs are tailored to the individual to promote the highest chances of recovery.

Signs of Substance Abuse

If you are worried about a loved one’s drug or alcohol use, they may be exhibiting certain signs of addiction. These can include:

  • Mood swings
  • Missing school or work
  • Withdrawing from friends or family
  • Financial or legal issues
  • A lack of interest in hobbies
  • Appearing intoxicated regularly
  • Difficulty completing everyday tasks
The signs of substance abuse vary from person to person. However, if you recognize any of the above in yourself or a loved one, completing a residential treatment program may be beneficial.

Although this can be a scary time, it is important to remember that you are not alone. By taking the first step in securing a long-term recovery, you will have the opportunity to regain control of your life and seek appropriate help.

Upon commencing a residential treatment program, you will undergo detox. This particular treatment removes any harmful toxins or chemicals from the body. Essentially initiating the recovery process, the safest way to detox is in a medically supervised environment.

Here, medical help is always available to help clients cope with any unpleasant withdrawal symptoms. Though withdrawal symptoms depend on the type of substance used, they often include:

  • Headaches
  • Muscle aches
  • Vomiting
  • Restlessness
  • Fatigue
  • Chills
  • Fever
  • Cravings

There can be a temptation to go ‘cold turkey’ and quit drugs or alcohol without medical assistance. However, doing so can be incredibly dangerous. In doing so, some people experience seizures and severe dehydration, leading to health complications and a greater chance of a relapse in the long term.

During substance abuse treatment within a rehab program, medication is used to manage symptoms of withdrawal. The type of medication used depends on what substance is being taken, but can include:

  • Benzodiazepines - A common treatment for alcohol withdrawal, benzodiazepines help calm the central nervous system while reducing certain withdrawal symptoms such as anxiety and insomnia.
  • Methadone - Methadone is a long-term and controlled replacement for opioids. Over time, the dose is reduced to alleviate the intensity of withdrawal symptoms.
  • Naltrexone - Naltrexone is a drug that blocks the ‘high’ that occurs when people use drugs or alcohol. It can be used for both opioid and alcohol withdrawal.

At NP Addiction Clinic, we supervise detox every step of the way. Doing so can make detox easier and ensures that treatment can be quickly sought should any withdrawal symptoms arise.

Mental Health Support

After detox, mental health support is offered to identify the root causes of addiction. Therapy options that we offer at NP Addiction Clinic include:

  • Group therapy
  • Individual therapy
  • Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT)
  • Support groups
  • Recreational therapy

Many people who struggle with substance abuse also experience mental health disorders. When substance abuse and mental health disorders coexist, dual diagnosis treatment is the most effective solution. At NP Addiction Clinic, we have comprehensive dual diagnosis treatment options to treat this behavior at the root cause.

With an in-depth assessment process, NP Addiction Clinic provides individualized mental health care for each client's needs. Working with our specialists, you’ll receive a personalized plan containing treatment that is right for you.

At NP Addiction Clinic, we know that recovery doesn’t end with a detox. Following treatment, our supportive aftercare aids long-term recovery from various substance use disorders.

What Is the Difference Between Residential Treatment And Outpatient Treatment?

Although outpatient and residential rehab programs may sound the same, there is a significant difference between them.

For example, outpatient treatment is less intense than residential treatment. Spanning six months to a year, those who take advantage of outpatient treatment will usually complete a range of therapy-based treatments. Somewhat flexible, outpatient treatment sees those in recovery attend a recovery center for approximately twelve hours a week. Outside of treatment, many can go about their everyday life.

In contrast, residential treatment programs require those in recovery to remain within a center for three to six months. Many intense treatments, such as detoxification, one-to-one therapy, and group therapy, are completed during this time. Residential treatment is usually the most effective solution for those with severe addictions and those who require dual diagnosis treatment.

Benefits of Residential Substance Abuse Treatment

When considering whether residential, inpatient, or outpatient care is suitable, there are several factors to consider. Though many are hesitant to complete residential treatment, doing so comes hand-in-hand with a range of benefits. These include:

  • Around the clock care and support from staff
  • Access to support groups and counseling
  • A medically assisted detox process
  • Personalized treatment programs

Providing structure and routine, residential rehab programs enable our clients to focus solely on their recovery. Away from any external distractions and obligations, many complete residential treatment and go on to maintain their sobriety.

Our Facilities

At NP Addiction Center, we provide our clients with a home-away-from-home. Ensuring that you remain comfortable as you complete residential substance abuse treatment, we provide the following facilities:

  • A fully staffed kitchen
  • Twenty-eight beds
  • Private therapy rooms
  • Comfortable bedrooms
  • Beautiful gardens
  • Recreational equipment

Your health and happiness are our priority - adding some comforts while you work towards recovery can make all the difference to your mental state. Whether you take a break in our lovely gardens or relax in your plush bedroom, you’ll have the ability to take advantage of all of our facilities during your stay in our residential center.

We Are Here To Help You

At NP Addiction Clinic, our staff is on hand to support you every step of the way. Throughout your time in our center, you’ll have access to safe medications to assist you through the detox stage.

Some clients find residential treatment centers more comfortable than outpatient rehab as they have more time to settle in and focus on recovery. Although, as noted above, residential treatment programs require complete dedication, they can be highly effective. Access to support and medical help at all times reduces the risk of lethal withdrawal symptoms, and counseling is available to treat the root cause of addiction.

Commencing substance abuse treatment can seem daunting, which is why NP Addiction Clinic provides a friendly, encouraging environment to set clients up for recovery. Our in-depth assessment process enables us to design a bespoke treatment program for each individual.
